The Day of the Funeral

Irrespective of religious content, the funeral ceremony is nearly always referred to as The Funeral Service and is the central element of the funeral arrangement. It is where all the work that has been done in the previous days comes together. We are here to make the day run as smoothly as possible for you and to take away any worry or concern that you may have.

If we are meeting you at an address for you to follow in cortege to the funeral location, we will advise you the time that we will be there in advance. The procession will arrive a couple of minutes before the time to give everybody chance to get into the vehicles and for us to depart. Drivers of their own cars will be asked to switch on their headlights. When we arrive at the service location, we will guide you on what will happen and where to sit. You will be asked if you want to follow the coffin in to the venue or go in to be seated first. After the service, you will be shown out by the funeral director. If you have travelled to the service in one of our limousines, you will be returned home or to a destination of your choice afterwards.

If you are making your own way to the service location, we advise you to arrive 10 minutes before the service time. The cortege will arrive a few minutes before the service is due to start and you will be met by the funeral director. We will guide you on what will happen and where to sit. You will be asked if you want to follow the coffin in to the venue or go in to be seated first. After the service, you will be shown out by the funeral director.

If you are not sure what to do or have any questions at all, please ask the funeral director who will assist you.
